Spectra Energy – Expansão da instalação de gás ácido McMahon

Gas Liquids Engineering Ltd. (GLE) provided engineering and regulatory services for an expansion at an existing sour gas treating facility located south of Fort St. John, British Columbia. The McMahon facility was originally started in 1957 and has had progressive expansions and modifications in the 59 years it has been operating. McMahon has the full range of sour gas treating, liquids recovery, and sulphur facilities. The expansion project touched-on, modified, or constructed the following systems:

  • Inlet piping
  • Inlet separation, heating and filtration
  • Inlet gas temperature control
  • Gas dehydration (Drizo Unit #4)
  • Sulphur plant boiler feed water cooling
  • Sulphur plant air preheating
  • New 50% capacity gas coalescer installed adjacent to the existing two gas coalescers. They are designed to operate in parallel; two at 50% on-line and one as a hot standby.
  • Slug dump modifications; add new valves and piping to have one slug dump per vessel
  • Electrical system modifications to accommodate the above
  • DCS and control systems modifications to accommodate the above
  • Structural modifications to accommodate the above
