Project Management Services
From Concept to Commissioning
It’s not an exaggeration; Gas Liquids Engineering has managed projects with a combined capital cost of over a billion dollars—at the same time. Many EPCMs present well when it comes to project management, but GLE has the tried and tested work procedures to ensure a smooth project. Our database driven project system provides up-to-date reports that are fully customizable, and allows us to leverage metrics from our extensive collection of past projects.
In addition to large projects, GLE has a dedicated small projects team. From brown field additions to green field installations, our small projects group has the experience to tailor our work procedures for the lowest cost and fastest delivery.
Scheduling
GLE develops schedules using our own extensive historical data, typically utilizing MS Project and Primavera P6. The use of project-specific man-power loading curves has proven accurate, and allows us to ensure a smooth and timely execution of project deliverables, with an appropriate level of staff.
Earned Value
Using GLE’s database driven project management system, we are capable of performing Earned Value Management that approaches real-time project metrics. At set intervals, progress against each deliverable is recorded or estimated, and these are then rolled up into the disciplines to compare spent with earned, by cost and schedule.
Risk Management
Mitigating risk is important on every project, and at GLE it is a part of our everyday workflow. From Monte Carlo analysis of project budgets, to risk registers, to HAZOP, we help ensure you are aware of the risks and have taken reasonable steps to mitigate them.
Cost Estimates
While equipment pricing is typically estimated from quotations, we also maintain a high quality database of past purchased equipment and installation costs, representing over a billion dollars of historical project data. This database allows us to quickly develop and validate cost estimates, with solid justification for installation costs. GLE has the benefit of many years of construction management experience.
Change Management
Change management helps control the effect of changes during the execution and control stage, thereby avoiding overruns in cost and schedule. These changes can be in the form of Project Change Notices (PCN) that are distributed to the client for approval. In addition, a project change notice may be issued at client’s discretion for a change in scope or change to contract.
Project Reporting
From minimalist to highly detailed, our reporting will meet the needs of your project. GLE makes use of OnTrack PM software to produce up to date project reports. This use of an integrated project controls system means that as soon as purchase orders are issued or invoices processed, they are included automatically on all reports. Cost reports can be printed using our client’s coding structure or preferred format.
Projects where a cash flow plan is created can print the S-curves with all actual values automatically plotted against time. Clients can be aware of when they can expect to be making payments throughout the project, while tracking the project’s progression.
