Enhance Energy – Clive Pipelines

Gas Liquids Engineering Ltd. (GLE) is currently undertaking EPCM services for Enhance Energy to expand the Clive Oil Battery. CO2 will be injected into the aging Clive Oil Field for the purpose of enhanced oil recovery. The injection sites are designed for water alternating gas injection. The project requires the installation of three pipelines, which share a common right-of-way (RoW). The following pipelines were installed:

Production Pipelines

Producing wells are tied in and flow north to the Enhance Energy Clive Oil Battery. These production pipelines are designed and licensed for 20% H2S sour service. The lines consist of several different segments that gradually increase in pipeline diameter as they get closer to the Clive Oil Battery.

  • Segment 1: 1638 metres long, 219.1 mm (8 NPS) outside diameter, maximum operating pressure 7600 kPag (1102 psig), Grade 359, Category II, with YJ2K
  • Segment 2: 6119 metres long, 323.9 mm (12 NPS) outside diameter, maximum operating pressure 7600 kPag (1102 psig), Grade 359, Category II, with YJ2K
  • The system is designed for future expansion
  • All segments were designed to be piggable and pig facilities (launchers/senders) were located at the end of all segments where the diameter changes

CO2 Injection Pipelines

Injection wells are tied in via pipelines to the CO2 compressor to distribute CO2 for injection. These CO2 injection pipelines are designed and licensed for 6% H2S sour service.

  • Initial Installation: 7001 metres long, 168.3 mm (6 NPS) outside diameter, maximum operating pressure 14,480 kPag (2100 psig), Grade 359, Category II, with YJ2K
  • The system is designed for future expansion

Water Injection / Disposal Pipelines

The Clive Oil Battery is tied in to a number of injection wells via pipeline in order to distribute produced water for injection. These water injection pipelines are designed and licensed for 20% H2S sour service.

  • Battery to Injection Well 1: 5431 metres long, 219.1 mm (8 NPS) outside diameter, maximum operating pressure 8700 kPag (1263 psig), Grade 359, Category II, with YJ2K
  • Battery to Injection Well 2: 2326 metres long, 168.3 mm (6 NPS) outside diameter, maximum operating pressure 8700 kPag (1263 psig), Grade 359, Category II, with YJ2K
  • The system is designed for future expansion
