Seven Generations – Gold Creek

Gas Liquids Engineering Ltd. (GLE) provided EPCM services to Seven Generations for the Gold Creek Gas Plant, a sweet natural gas processing facility, located near Grand Prairie, Alberta. The plant will be built in multiple phases. Phase 1 consists of two separate processing plants; Plant 1 and Plant 2. Each plant will have the ability to process 250 MMSCF/d of gas (500 MMSCF/d total), and 10375 bbl/d of natural gas liquids (NGL’s) (20750 bbl/d total). Plant 1 and common facilities to shared between Plant 1 and Plant 2 was completed in November 2018, with Plant 2 following at a later date. First gas flow in Plant 1 occurred in December 2018.

The Gold Creek Gas Plant processes high pressure, dehydrated gas from the Kakwa Area. Free condensate separated in the field is pipelined to another facility for stabilization and sales. An existing 24” NPS sweet gas pipeline was converted to a raw gas line for Gold Creek inlet gas. Natural gas liquids (NGL’s) (C3 to C7+) are trucked out of the facility. A future Pembina Lease Automatic Custody Transfer (LACT) station may be installed to send liquids to a Pembina pipeline.

The following utilities in the common area will be shared:

  • Two (2) Turbine Power Generators with an installed capacity of 28.6 MW. One will be installed with a 36 MMBtu/hr Waste Heat Recovery Unit (WHRU). The turbines will generate electricity at 13.8 kV. Electricity will be stepped down to 4160 V / 480 V / 208 V / 120 V.
  • One (1) Critical Services / Peak Load Gas Driven Generator
  • One (1) Black Start / Critical Services Diesel Generator
  • Two (2) 2350 m3 NGL Storage Spheres.
  • 4 NGL Truck-out’s c/w 3 x 50% single stage centrifugal transfer / truck loading pumps
