Numac Energy – Joffree CO2 Miscible Flood

Gas Liquids Engineering Ltd. (GLE) provided EPCM services for Numac Energy to expand an existing miscible flood project near Joffre, Alberta that has been in production since 1983.

The original miscible flood consisted of patterns A through E, as well as pattern 8. GLE’s project scope included:

  • Develop Patterns 10 and 11
    • Tie-In Production Oil Well 10-21 to 10-16 Satellite (10 m³/d Oil, 50 m³/d Water, 0.52 MMSCF/d)
    • Tie-In Production Oil Well 12-15 to 10-16 Satellite (6 m³/d Oil, 30 m³/d Water, 0.31 MMSCF/d)
    • Tie-In Production Oil Well 10-15 to 10-16 Satellite (12 m³/d Oil, 60 m³/d Water, 0.62 MMSCF/d)
    • Tie-In CO₂ Injection Well 16-20 (1.9 MMSCF/d CO₂)
    • Tie-In CO₂ / H₂O Injection Well 4-21 (2.3 MMSCF/d CO₂, 100 m³/d H2O)
    • Tie-In CO₂ / H₂O Injection Well 4-22 (1.3 MMSCF/d CO₂, 58 m³/d H2O)
    • All Oil Wells have a small building housing the pump jack piping and pigging facilities. Building heat provided by 12″ x 24″ catalytic heaters fueled by propane tanks.
  • Activated CO₂ Injector linking pattern E and 8 at 12-17
  • Activated CO₂ Injectors for planned Patterns 12 and 13 at 4-15 and 12-14
  • Utilized same ROW ditch for 6” Group Gathering Pipeline, 4” Water Pipeline, 4” CO₂ Pipeline, and two (2) 2” Gathering Lines
