Gas Liquids Engineering Ltd. (GLE), working with Kharafi National, completed pre-bid and basic engineering design and budgetary cost estimation for an Early Production Facility (EPF) for the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) and Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC). The scale of the facilities involved operations for treatment of 150,000 bbl/d of sour oil and 550 MMSCF/d of sour gas.
Project scope included well-site tie-ins, gathering system design, pressure separation, oil stabilization, product storage, vapour recovery, gas recompression, gas sweetening and dehydration, and 600 TPD sulphur plant. Primary processing was to occur on the KOC site, with transportation of liquid sulphur to the KNPC site for interim storage and pelletization.
Budgetary cost estimation was performed for all required unit operations in this set of early production facilities. GLE input was provided to Kharafi National for preparation of the final bid documents. The bid was successful and the project was awarded to Kharafi National for EPCM execution.
