Air Pressure

Gas Concentration

Air Pressure - This application calculates the elevation from the sea level by the given air static air pressure, or vice versa. The standard temperature and density at the given input are presented too. The calculation is based on the standard condition which is 15 oC and 101.325 kPa at sea level. The air pressure is correlated with the elevation as below
Gas Concentration -This application converts between the 8 gas concentrations for a given component, defined by its mole weight, at the specified condition, defined by the standard mole volume.
The conversion can be done for any component at specified condition based on the following 8 gas concentration correlations:
1 ppm = 1000.0 ppb
= 1.0/10000.0 %
= mw/MV mg/m^3
= mw/MV/1000.0 mg/L
= mw/MV*6.2428e-8 lb/ft^3
= 1000.0/MV mol/m^3
= 1.0/MV mol/L

Natural Gas Properties

Orifice Gas

Natural Gas Properties - This program calculates the properties of natural gas and approximates the AGA8 composition.
For this calculation, the natural gas is defined by its specific gravity (G), and mole fractions of N2, CO2, and H2S. The following properties will be calculated for a given pressure and temperature:

Mole Weight
Density
Viscosity
Compressibility Factor
Ratio of Specific Heat
Specific Heat (Cp)
Enthalpy
Thermal Conductivity
Bulk
Sonic Velocity
Saturation Water Content
Gross Heating Value
Net Heating Value
Orifice Gas - This orifice application analyzes the flow through orifice for the simulation and design purposes. Based on the AGA Report No. 3[1], it provides following solutions to the questions regarding a orifice and metering:
• The flow rate through an orifice
• The required orifice diameter
• The differential pressure
• The Run diameter at Beta = 0.7 and 50” water column

Besides, the fully recovered downstream pressure is presented. For the gas flow through the orifice, the critical flow is checked and modified automatically.

Water Properties Vessel Volume
Water Properties - This program is to compute thermodynamic properties of water in the vapor, liquid, or solid phase. Independent variables are the temperature and either the density or the pressure. Outputs are the pressure or density and the specific internal energy, specific enthalpy, specific entropy, saturation pressure, and speed of sound. The water vapor curve is presented too.

Vessel Volume - The main objective of the Vessel Volume is to calculate the volume of the liquid inside of a horizontal vessel with varying heads. Other values such as vessel external surface area and wetted surface area are also calculated. Type of Vessel head:
- Flat
- Hemispherical
- Ellipsoidal with a specific ratio
Liquid content can be specified by:
- Liquid depth
- Liquid depth (% of ID)
- Liquid volume (%)
Following vessel parameters will be calculated:
- Volumes of vessel, liquid, and per head
- Areas
- Liquid depth
- Liquid depth-volume from 0% to 100% depth with step 10%
